Delhi8217;s medium pacer Robin Singh Jr, who made his international debut in the third and final Test against New Zealand at Hamilton which ended in a draw on January 6, said, 8220;I had butterflies in my stomach as I was asked to bowl in the first innings.8221;
Regarding the encouragement or otherwise he received from senior members of the Indian squad, Robin Singh said, 8220;They were nice to me.8221; But he said when he came to know about the replacements for the one-dayers he was disapppointed.
8220;I even felt it might be my first and last Test. Jo bhi hoga dekha jayega, will see what happens I told myself, and tried to bowl hard,8221; he said, feeling a little upset at having let down several of his supporters.
8220;May be, if I had been part of the Indian team for a couple or more matches on the tour and then played a match, I might have performed better. I don8217;t know whether I8217;ll get anotherchance or not although I tried to bowl my best,8221; he said.
On his first Test wicket, Robin said: 8220;I felt very happy and thought I would do better in the second innings.8221; Robin Singh said he was taken by surprise when he was handed the new ball in New Zealand second innings instead of Javagal Srinath. 8220;I did not know beforehand. Anyway, I only tried my best,8221; he said. He got two wickets in the second innings.
Robin Singh, who has been named for the Delhi team for the ongoing Wills Trophy in East Zone, said he would join the team for the next match if Delhi wins the first match against the Board President8217;s XI.
