Unseeded players Tejasvi Rao of Andhra Pradesh and Rahil Makharia of Maharashtra caused major upsets by accounting for eighth seed Alon Moses and seventh seed Marlon Coelho both from Maharashtra on way to the boys singles under-18 quarter-finals of the AITA Super Series junior tennis tournament here today. Rao sidelined Moses 6-3, 7-5 in one hour 25 minutes while Makharia rallied splendidly, after dropping the first set 4-6 to pip Coelho 4-6, 7-6 7-1, 6-0 in two hours.

In the girls singles pre-quarter-finals, unseeded Anuja Parikh shocked her statemate and sixth seed Sanchi Ganeriwal 6-1, 6-4 in 45 minutes.
