Rain washes out play again

CENTURION PARK, JANUARY 16: Play was abandoned for a second successive day without a ball being bowled on the third day of the fifth and final cricket Test between South Africa and England on Sunday.

Play was abandoned at 2.15 pm 1745 IST when rain swept over the ground after there had been hope for much of the day that some play might be possible as waterlogged bowlers8217; run-ups dried out slowly on a mostly fine day.

About eight inches of rain has fallen since Friday when South Africa were 155 for six.
