Indian student found dead in US varsity lab

LEXINGTON US: The death of an Indian student at a University of Kentucky lab has been ruled as suicide, officials said. Zuber Deshmukh, 25, of Mumbai, died from asphyxiation due to cyanide toxicity, coroner8217;s officials said yesterday. No evidence of a chemical spill, hazardous gases or vapours was found in the area at the college of pharmacy where Deshmukh was found on Sunday, school officials said. No other details were released.

IZMIT TURKEY: The number of dead in the Turkish earthquake soared dramatically by nearly 6,000 in one day as a fresh quake shook the northwest sparking more panic. The death toll now stands at 17,997.

Man shot at

MUMBAI: A 32-year-old man with a criminal record was shot at by fourunidentified persons at Goregaon late Thursday night. The victim, Deva Narayan Shetty, was shot at by 9 mm guns at Jawahar Nagar, Road No 1.
