Narayanan surgery

CHENNAI: President K R Narayanan arrived in Chennai today by a special IAF aircraft from New Delhi to undergo eye treatment. After arriving in Chennai, the President drove straight to Sankara Netralaya for a check-up. He is scheduled for an eye operation on Thursday.

COLOMBO: Suspected LTTE guerrillas exploded a series of bombs here last night killing one person and injuring 14 others and later blew up an army vehicle with a land mine in the recently captured area in northern Vanni in which two army personnel were killed.
