Kalyan BJP leader murdered

MUMBAI: VICE president of BJP8217;s Kalyan unit Vinayak Mane was stabbed to death by some unidentified persons at Kalyan in Thane district early today. Police said Vinayak, whose body bore several injury marks, was found lying dead near the railway tracks in a tunnel at 6 am today.According to police, Vinayak was on his way to work when some persons stabbed him on his thighs. A manhunt for the absconding assailants has been launched.

MBBS marks scam

MUMBAI: The Maharashtra Medical Council8217;s executive committee today accepted the report of MMC8217;s submittee on the MBBS marks scandal. 8220;The report of the three-member panel was placed before the committee and it has been accepted,8221; MMC President Arvind Sangamnerkar said. A copy of the report has also been submitted to Governor P C Alexander.
