Chief of Army Staff Gen. V. P. Malik will lay a wreath at the War Memorial in the city at 9 a.m. on September 10n.

NCERT contest
National Council of Educational Research and Training NCERT has announced its 30th national competition for children8217;s literature. Prizes will be awarded to 40 books and manuscripts in 19 languages. In all, 60 prizes will be awarded. The theme for the contest is All human rights for all8217;.October 30 is the last date for receipt of entries. Details can be had from Dr. O. N. Awasthi, zonal advisor, NCERT 128/2 Kothrud, Pune-29, telephone no. 337314.

Savarkar award
Veer Savarkar award, instituted by Run Vimochan Trust, will be presented to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam by the Chief of Army Staff Gen. V.P. Malik at Tilak Smarak Mandir at 4.30 p.m. on September 12. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. one lakh and a memento.

Nature trip
