Changes in IA flight schedule
Indian Airlines (IA) has revised the flight schedule for IC 917/918 (Chennai- Bangalore-Pune and Pune-Bangalore-Chennai) with effect from July 1. The frequency of the flight is being reduced from the present five days per week to three days per week. The flight will now operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only.
The revised flight schedule will be as follows: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – IC 917 Departure Chennai: 9.55 a.m., Arrival Pune (via Bangalore): 12.40 p.m.
IC 918 Departure Pune: 1.20 p.m. Arrival Chennai (via Bangalore): 4.10 p.m.
NDA merit list declared
The merit list of 701 candidates who have qualified on the basis of the results of the written examination held by the Union Public Service Commission in September 1997 and interviews held by the Services Selection Board has been announced.
A copy of the result is available for perusal at the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Shastri Road, Chiplunkar Bhavan, Navi Peth.
Aid sought
Bhagwat Jadhav, aged 35 years, has sought financial assistance to undergo a kidney transplant operation. Cheques should be issued in favour of Kamal Nayan Bajaj Hospital, Aurangabad, 431 001.
Congress memorandum
A delegation of the city Congress unit, led by unit president Mohan Joshi, called on Pune police commissioner K K Kashyap to demand immediate arrest of those involved in recent crimes in the city.
In a memorandum submitted to the police commissioner, the city Congress unit alleged that crime in the city had increased alarmingly and expressed the concern that the culprits were not arrested by the police. The delegation included former Pune mayor Vandana Chavan, Virendra Kirad and Sanjay Balgude.
