CHENNAI, MAY 20: The countdown for the launch of the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C2, carrying Indian Remote Sensing Satellite IRS-P4 as the primary payload and two other auxiliary payloads will begin by afternoon on May 24.

8220;Everything is going on smoothly and the vehicle is ready for launch on May 26 between 1140 and 1200 hrs,8221; Dr S Vasanta, director of the Sriharikota Range SHAR centre from where the vehicle is to be launched, said. The launch window will be opened at 1140 hrs, he added.

Besides IRS-P4 Oceansat, the PSLV-C2 will carry a 107-kg Korean Institute of Technology Satellite KITSAT and a 45-kg Technology University of Berlin Satellite TUBSAT, as auxiliary payloads to inject them in the polar sun-synchronous circular orbit, Vasanta said.

He said the process of integration of the vehicle as well as three satellites had been completed.
