
SURAT: Within 10 days of the national protest observed by the Christian community against attacks, another such incident was reported in Unai, Valsad district. According to a statement issued by Fr Jayanti Macwan, Surat, Fr Vincent Macwan and two nuns were returning from a village in a jeep when two persons faked an accident, stopped them, smashed the panes and headlights of the vehicles and fled from the spot. While a case has been registered at the Unai outpost, the Unai police could not be contacted despite repeated efforts.
ONGC panel members of the ONGC Retired Employees’ Welfare Association, Bharuch, have formed a panel to take up various issues with the management. An association release stated on Wednesday that the panel, consisting B L Panjwani, S I Holia and N D Dube, would fight issues pertaining to reduction in pension and medical facilities for the retired staff and their family members.
Kids’ carnival the Master Skate Club have organised a Kids Carnival on December 24. Children below eight years can participate in the carnival to be held at Reem Zeem, Vasna road. Besides a skating contest, the carnival will also include a dance party on December 27.
BUTA demand members of the Baroda University Teachers’ Association met M S University Vice-Chancellor Anil Kane on Thursday demanding reimbursement of their pay which was cut at the time of their strike. The members have asked t the university authorities take an initiative and pursue the government to reimburse their pay like that of the teachers of the Saurashtra University and Sardar Patel University.
