Pranab dials up Aussie counterpart

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday spoke with his Australian counterpart raising concern that Mohammed Haneef be treated 8220;fairly and justly8221;.

The telephonic conversation between Mukherjee and Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Alexander Downer was 8220;initiated at the request of the Australian side8221;, spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs said.

The ministers discussed developments about the Haneef8217;s case and they agreed that both the sides should conclude a 8220;mutual legal assistance legal treaty8221;.
