Polling passed off peacefully in this sensitive parliamentary constituency from where National Conference chief Omar Abdullah is seeking re-election. The NC has, however, demanded re-polling in 13 booths. The poll percentage in urban areas was poor. Voting was disrupted briefly at Yachgam in Badgam district where militants fired a grenade on a polling booth but it hit a house, injuring a girl. A tragedy was averted when police detected an IED on the main road in Zadibal area.
