Nagercoil, Sept 24: Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder-president Dr Ramadoss today affirmed that his party would go along with the DMK in the next assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

Addressing a press conference here, he, however, made it clear that the PMK did not favour sharing power with the DMK.

Reacting to the call given by TMC leader G K Moopanar for a third front in the state, he said the proposed front would have little significance. Moopanar’s call was only a sign of desperation as he had been pushed to a corner in the state’s politics, he claimed.

Dr Ramadoss opposed the imposition of President’s rule in West Bengal. He also supported the proposed hike in the prices of petroleum products, saying that the situation demanded such harsh decisions and the people should co-operate with the Centre.

The PMK leader urged the Karunanidhi Government to implement the pension scheme for the employees of the state transport corporation at the earliest.

He said the state conference of his party would be held in Chennai in the last week of January next.

Dr Ramadoss was here in connection with the ongoing meetings of the PMK in each assembly segment in the run-up to the state conference.
