Play staged in Major8217;s memory

KHARAR, MAY 16: A Punjabi play, Simar Simar Sukh Paya, was organised by the Kharar Punjabi Lok Rang Manch in memory of Major Harminder Pal Singh, who was killed in an encounter with the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants in Baramullah district of North Kashmir on April 13.

The play was organised at Christian High School here on Saturday. Several Punjabi folk singers and dhandhi jathas enthralled the audience with their performances.The Major8217;s father, Capt retd Harpal Singh, was honoured by the Manch. A souvenir related to the play was released. The play was written and directed by Badal Ghavadi.
