Pensioners seek additional DA

JALANDHAR, Oct 5: The Central Government Pensioners8217; Associations have urged the government to sanction 6 per cent additional dearness relief with effect from July 1998 to 32 lakh Central government pensioners and family pensioners before Diwali.

General Secretary of the Associations, North India region, V S Jolly in a letter to A B Vajpayee sought his personal intervention to ensure disbursement of the additional DA to the pensioners. Jolly said the government had already given additional relief to 35 lakh Central govt staff while the pensioners had been denied this benefit. The pensioners should get benefit before Pooja and Diwala festival, he added.
