Patiala ADC transferred

CHANDIGARH, Dec 24: All India Congress Committee member and former Punjab Minister Brahm Mohindra has demanded immediate elections to the Patiala Municipal Corporation to democratise its functioning.In a statement, he called upon the state government to order delimitation of the wards to rectify the irregularities. He alleged the government had adopted the attitude of go-slow on delimitation deliberately. He pointed out that while in one ward, the number of voters was 6,600, in another ward the number was just 2,200. He said there were discrepancies even area-wise. Moreover, in some cases, the reserve wards had been merged with the general category wards and vice versa.
