PANCHKULA, Aug 15: I am not the kind of a girl who would opt for Bollywood as my current involvement in the entertainment business excites me much more than the usual running around trees and in television there is more exposure and spontaneity, said Mini Mathur, a popular television personality and model in an interview to Newsline on Saturday. Mini was here for the rhythm and rain dance event at the Funcity.
Talking about her becoming an MTV VJ, Mini, who is a qualified MBA, said, quot;I always loved music and it is MTV, which I believe is the right platform for music lovers like me who like to perform in live shows as these are energy and style-based. I just went in for the MTV VJ hunt and I just managed to sail through the finals.quot; She is currently hosting popular five days a week show, quot;MTV chilloutquot; on MTV.
When asked what brought her into the entertainment industry, Mini said, quot;After I finished my MBA in marketing, I worked with an advertising industry for some time and then while I was still working, modelling assignments came my way and that8217;s when I was discovered and then I started getting roles for serials and to host shows on different channels.quot; Mini has acted in many serials which include quot;Tanavquot;, quot;Vakalatquot; and quot;Khawaishquot;, which is currently on air on Sony channel.
Mini is playing the role of a girl with different shades of a character in quot;Khawaishquot;. When asked whether the role matches her real life, she said, quot;Not at all! I am a happy-go-lucky kind of a person and the character in the serial reflects something very different.quot;
On being asked if she has any plans to produce programmes, Mini said quot;At the moment I plan to concentrate on my assignments with the MTV as there are many shows in the pipeline, but I would surely like to produce my own movies, especially on wildlife.quot;
Mini Mathur is currently also hosting the popular beauty show, quot;Khubsooratquot; on Zee tv, quot;Indian Holidayquot; on Sony and also features in many advertisements. She has also acted in a couple of plays like quot;Miss Anthropequot; by the French playwright Moliere and quot;House of Barnadaquot; by Lorca.
