MUMBAI, DEC 21: Nitin Bali edged out Nohar Nath on the 19th to bag the Sunday Standard Challenge Shield match-play golf tournament at the par-70 BPGC course recently.

Nath, winner of last season8217;s BPGC Golfer of the Year, shot a 77 to win the best gross prize for the Leslie Sawhney Trophy. Ashish Chemburkar with a net-67 won the top prize while Arjun Gupta, nett 69, finished second.

Syndicate win: Syndicate team won the First Lourdes Church Throwball tournament for women played at the Lourdes School Ground, Kalyan W today. Syndicate won over Mahsoba Maidan team 15-2, 16-14. Shantala Hegde was voted the best player of the tourney.

Athavle shines: SaraswatiEducation High School8217;s Abhishek Athavle scalped 2 wickets for 17 runs and scored a useful 54 in the second round of the third Ghatali Cup 8211; 1998 Inter School Cricket Tournament u-14 conducted by Ghantali Prabhodini Sanstha at Central Maidan, Thane. Sawarwati finished with a total of 97-2 against Lokpuram High School.
