
Nine people were killed after a speeding truck rammed into their jeep near Madhwas village, about 10 kilometres from Pavagadh around 3 am on Thursday. Six passengers died on the spot and two more were declared dead at the Sir Sayajirao General SSG Hospital.
One of the deceased has not been identified.
Officers at the Kalol police station said the deceased belonged to Bajidora village in Banswada district of Rajasthan.

He said after the accident, the truck driver escaped from the spot.
The deceased have been identified as Valu Amarji Rawat 27, Ashok Goswami 25, the driver and owner of the jeep, Dinesh Rawat 26, Jamnaben Makanbhai 50, Santoshben Katara 28, Vitthal Pargi 40, Sangeeta Dindor 28, Kailash Damor 12 and an unidentified man.
