CHANDIGARH, Dec 23: For the first time after his taking over as the president of the Chandigarh Territorial Congress Committee, former Rajya Sabha MP Venod Sharma today released a list of the new party office-bearers, which include seven vice presidents and eight general secretaries besides a treasurer.

The new appointments have been approved by the All-India Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The earlier CTCC body was dissolved by Sharma after he took over as the new president.

While the new vice president are Kulbhushan Gupta, Surinder Bhatia, S.M. Khan, K.C. Shenmar, Gurcharan Dass Kala, Tarlok Singh Kochhar and Manjit Kaur, the new general secretaries are Gurbachan Singh, Sunil Parti, Subhash Chawla, Kamlesh, O.P. Verma, Vijaypal Singh Dimpy, Kuldip Singh, sarpanch and J.N. Shastri. The new treasurer would be D.D. Jindal.

Interestingly, while Sharma has included some of the loyalists of former CTCC president Pawan Kumar Bansal, he has not so far included any of the loyalists of Indian Youth Congress president Munish Tewari, who also hails from Chandigarh.

Municipal councillors Gurcharan Dass Kala and Kamlesh, Tarlok Singh Kochhar and former CYC president Vijaypal Singh Dimpy are some of the new faces, former District Congress Committee Urban president O.P. Verma and Mahila Congress joint secretary Manjit Kaur have also been elevated to the state body.
