Nepal: China wants King, parties patch-up

This marks a meaningful deviation from China’s earlier policy that the Royal takeover on February 1 was Nepal’s internal affairs. Tang , an influential Chinese leader who was earlier the country’s Foreign Affairs Minister, separately met pro-democracy leaders inlcuding former Prime Ministers—G P Koirala and Shre Bahadur Deuba and communist party of Nepal—United Maxist Leninist leaders Vharat Mohan Adhikary and Amrit Bohra—who are part of the 7-party alliance for Democracy.

Tang who is here on the invitation of Vice Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Kirtinidhi Bista was speaking at a luncheon reception hosted by China study centre.
