IndiGo Flight Cancellation: IndiGo Saturday said it looks to operate more than 1,500 flights by the end of the day, marking a major step in restoring normalcy after days of large-scale disruptions across its network. The airline said after a severe wave of cancellations, its operations showed “early signs of improvement” Saturday, backed by a full network reboot and reorganised rosters.
On Friday, IndiGo had operated a little above 700 flights, connecting 113 destinations, after cancelling a significant number of services to reset its system. According to the airline, Saturday’s recovery has allowed it to re-establish over 95 per cent of its network connectivity, with flights now operational to 135 out of 138 destinations.
An IndiGo spokesperson said: “The main objective was to reboot the network, systems, and rosters so that we could start afresh today with higher number of flights, improved stability, and there are some early signs of improvement. Today, we are on our way to operate over 1500 flights by end of day.”
The airline stressed that it still has “a long way to go” but remains committed to rebuilding passenger confidence.
The carrier said it is addressing customer refunds on priority and is coordinating with airports to ensure timely updates are shared through terminals, its website, and direct notifications. Passengers have been urged to check the latest status at its flight-status portal before heading to the airport, as the airline continues to add resilience to its operations.
IndiGo also confirmed that the situation is steadily improving across airports: “Our teams are focused on stabilising schedules, reducing delays, and supporting customers through this period. Today the number of cancellations has dropped below 850 flights, much lower compared to yesterday.”
IndiGo also thanked its staff, partners and customers for their patience during the crisis: “We would like to thank all our partners and government agencies for their constant support… and our heartfelt gratitude to our customers and staff for their patience and cooperation through these tough times.”
