
Team to view eclipse in Iran
A group of amateur astronomers from India will go to Iran to view the total solar eclipse of the century and millennium. Noted astronomers Dr Bharat Adur and Aadil Desai will lead the team of astronomers to Iran. The team will camp near Isfahan at Najafabad, which is on the centreline having totality of one minute and 47 seconds. The observers will witness the total solar eclipse in one of the best observing sites with respect to weather since it will be cloudy in India. There will be polarimetric studies of the solar corona in collaboration with the Belgium-based Trans European Coronal Observing Network TECONET.
Four robbers remanded
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate K H Holambe-Patil on Tuesday remanded four persons who were arrested on charges of robbery and planning a major dacoity to police custody upto August 6.
The accused were nabbed while planning a big robbery at Ghatkopar.
Inter-school competition

Poster exhibition for Kargil
To pledge support to the soldiers fighting in Kargil, students of the Rachana Sansad School of Applied Art have made posters on the theme Indian soldiers and the duties of the common citizen8217;. Trek to Borivali national park
The department of Extra-Mural Studies of the University of Mumbai is organising monsoon nature trails in the reserved forest of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park atBorivali on all Sundays through August, September and October.
