Seminar on computers
Gates Computing Solutions, a Microsoft Certified Solution Provider, MCSP is conducting free seminars for students aspiring for a career in computers. The training programme offered by GATES leads to Microsoft Certification in Systems Engineering, Software Development and Web Development. It will be held from May 8 at Gates Computing Solutions, Katariya Road, opposite Sandesh Sweet Mart, Matunga West, Western Railway, Mumbai 16. Those who wish to attend the seminar may book their names with Gates Computing Solutions on Telephone Nos. 4329898 latest by May 6, 1999.

Various aspects of computer training will be imparted to the students. Beside, guidance will be given for a course suitable to them through 8220;DISH8221; 8211; a one year training program. The courses conducted are as per IT demands.

Course in tour management
Kesari Tours, in association with M L Dahanukar College, Vile Parle, will conduct a two month certificate course in domestic tour management. The course,which will commence from May 20, will be held four days a week. The syllabus comprises four theory papers of 100 marks each on Tourism Industry Setup, Indian Tourism, Tour Formalities and Tour Organization and Tourism Marketing. There will also be two practicals of 100 marks each, one on Practical Tourism Map works amp; reports and submission of a Project Report.

Fun-n-fair for thalasaemics
The Mumbai Thalassaemic Society and the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at Sion hospital will hold a Fun-N-Fair day on May 8, which is marked as International Thalassaemia Day. Thalassaemia major patients at hospitals like St George, Nanavati, Sion, KEM, Wadia, Red Cross, Hinduja and Bombay Hospital along with those at private thalassaemia transfusion centres will be entertained at the Fun-N-Fair. The fair will be held from 4 pm at the college grounds of Sion Hospital, Dr Ambedkar Road.

Letter from France
AshokDahanukar from Pandurang Sadan, 10th road, Khar w has been given a letter of appreciation by the French president Jacques Chirac on receipt of his book, 8220;French Sentences With Grammar8221;. This is the third time Dahanukar has been felicitated by a French president. Earlier, presidents Georges Pompidou and Francois Mitterrand have acknowledged his efforts in penning grammar books. Dahanukar has been teaching French for the last fifteen years.

Net education training
Wintech Computers will be relaunching SMART Software Mastering and Research Training about Internet education. The SMART curriculum comprises of two primary modules. Module I will include designing, publishing and programming on the Internet, while Module II will be about doing research and developing projects independently.
