For the list of successful students and college gazette, the principals of the colleges in Mumbai (city), Thane and Raigadh districts can depute their representatives with due authority letters to varsity’s examination section on Monday at Santacruz between 5pm and 6.30 pm. For the colleges in the Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts, principals can depute their representatives with due authority letters to varsity’s sub-centre on Tuesday during office hours.

For statement of marks and certificates of passing of students, principals of colleges in Mumbai (city), Thane and Raigadh districts can send their representatives on Thursday between 4 and 6 pm at the same centre. For Sindhudurg and Ratnagiri districts, principals can depute representatives on Friday during office hours at varsity’s sub-centre Ratnagiri.

Entrepreneurs’ awardfor women

Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce and Industry today gave awards to seven women entrepreneurs in recognition of their outstanding performance for the year 1997. The awardees are Sancheta Desai, Medha Mehendale, Susan Chamnur, Sheila Saabde, Meera Ghokale, Smita Paranjpe and Kumud Joshi.

The awards instituted in 1986 by the Ladies Wing of the MCCI are presented annually to successful women entrepreneurs. This year the awards were given away by actress Madhuri Dixit. Speaking in Marathi, Madhuri said, “When women are being honoured, I feel honoured.” Mayor Nandu Satam presided over the function.

Acupressure training camp

Iyengar yoga classes

Bangalore train upgraded

The Central Railway will introduce AC-3-tier accommodation by 1013 Dn Kurla Terminus-Bangalore Express from July 1 and in the 1014 Up Bangalore-Kurla (T) Express from July 3. With the introduction of this AC 3 Tier Coach the composition of this train will become 17 coaches.

Reservation centre at Bhayander

Union Minister of Railways, Nitish Kumar, will inaugurate a computerised passenger reservation centre at Bhayander at 11 am on June 30. Minister of State for Railways, Ram Naik, will preside over the function.

WWF’s Van Mahotsav

The World Wide Fund for Nature-India is celebrating `Van Mahotsav’ on July 1 at Sagar Upvan, the botanical garden at Colaba, opposite Colaba Bus Station by distributing free saplings. It will bedistributed jointly along with Mumbai Port Trust. Members of the public may collect saplings from 8 am onwards.
