The festival Simerations8217; 99 aims to give students an exposure to the corporate world. Sippy re-elected IMPDA head

N N Sippy was re-elected for the sixth successive time as president of the Indian Motion Picture Distributors Association at a meeting of the executive committee on Wednesday. The other office bearers are Indravadan Shah vice-president, Kantilal C Shah treasurer, Devendra T Shah secretary and Haresh Bhatia secretary. Sippy urged the producers to evolve a formula whereby spiralling production costs could be controlled by making stars accountable for flop films. Sippy alsolamented the increase in rentals of prestigious theatres due to monopolistic tendency of some distributors.

Online contest in programming

The Computer Science and Engineering Association of the Indian Institute of Bombay is organising an online programming contest called C-on-test8217;. The contest will be in the ASSI C programming language. To be held on October 16 between 6 pm and midnight, the contest involves solving six problems which are mailed to the contestants. The contestants are awarded points for speed and correctness. The contest is free and open to anybody across India who can send and receive email. But only students are eligible for the prizes. Workshop for BMS students

A workshop for BMS students will be held at Lala Lajpat Rai College of Commerce amp; Economics, Haji Ali, onOctober 1 from 10 am to 6 pm.
