Shiv Sena workers express displeasure over seats offered by BJP for Pune civic polls

After a disagreement in the Mahayuti on seat-sharing for Pune civic body elections, Shiv Sena workers in the city have expressed disappointment over the number of seats offered by BJP to them in the city.

Of the 165 seats in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the BJP has reportedly offered only 15 seats to Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena for election in the alliance.

Shiv Sena workers gathered outside the house of party leader Nilam Gorhe to express their disappointment. “If the Shiv Sena gets to contest only 15 seats then how will it strengthen its base in the city. We are very upset over the reports on the number of seats offered to us. How can we accommodate aspirants when around 500 of them applied for party candidature to contest elections?,” said a Sena office bearer.
