Police recovered a motorcycle from the accident spot.
Two young men were killed and another critically injured after a suspected road accident in the Narela area of Outer North Delhi, police said on Friday.
According to the police, they received information from Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital on Thursday that three injured persons – Jatin (21), Abhishek (19) and Ankit (21) – had been admitted following an accident, with Ankit declared dead on arrival. The three were brought to the hospital by an ambulance.
A police team reached the hospital and found that Ankit had sustained severe head and facial injuries. The other two injured were referred to a private hospital in Rohini’s Sector 17, said police. During treatment, Jatin succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, Abhishek remains under treatment and is in a serious condition, officers added.
Police recovered a motorcycle from the accident spot. The ambulance driver told police that while heading towards the Singhu Border, he found the three lying on the road with the motorcycle nearby and took them to the hospital.
As the incident appeared to be accidental, a case was registered on Friday and the matter was transferred to the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) for further investigation.
