Swapnil More became the first batsman to record a century in the 23rd Sportstar Trophy Mumbai Cricket Association under-19 selection trial tournament as he scored 106 at Fort Vijay, Azad Maidan to give Dattu Phadkar XI a narrow six-run first innings lead on Thursday. In their second innings, Vijay Manjrekar XI finished the day at 235 for the loss of 6 wickets. Opener Saurabh Randive made 84 with eight fours and two sixes. Sumit Gadigaonkar was unbeaten on 67.

Meanwhile skipper Tanmay Jadhav8217;s fine 73 wasn8217;t good enough to prop up Vijay Merchant XI8217;s first innings as they collapsed to 157 against Khandu Rangnekar XI at the Elf-Vengsarkar CA, Oval Maidan.

Merchant XI made a rousing start and were 70 for no loss at lunch, but after the long interval, they lost their way, and the perseverance of seamer Meghan Pednekar and off-spinner Siddharth Prasad, who took three wickets each, paid off for Rangnekar XI.
