Garbage with The Trick Is To Keep Breathing and Indus Creed with Trapped are as fabulous as usual. And so is Silk Route with that sinking song of theirs. Najam wails in an effort to bring in some much needed `feel’ to a well backed ballad.

True trippin’ had not been discovered until Goa to Ibiza came out. This two-tape album is carefully compiled, in sleek packaging, and contains tracks by everyone who’ve made a name for themselves in the business of trance. Prodigy, Lia de Bahia, Tama, Twin Presents, Mosquito Headz, Force Majeure and others are featured in this 21 track album, which has names similar to those of the band names. `Compilations from the World’s Top 10 Dance Destinations’ is the catch phrase of the collection. The cassettes are aptly called Journey I and Journey II. Fantastic for those who are into the scene. For the rest, think before you pay.
For a compilation like this, the best you can do is buy it.

Come home to the Classics, Volume II, by Michael Bolton. Who haven’t found themselves getting carried away by the sheer power and emotion in this man’s voice? Not to mention the beauty of his lyrics, the soulful music and the fantastic videos, so what if there aren’t that many? This collection gives you all that and more, other artistes who wrote and rendered immortal love songs, covered by Michael Bolton. And it simply makes you wanna siggghhhh!!
Created for the die-hard romantic, this collection has tracks like Like a Rolling Stone (Bob Dylan), Warm and Tender Love (Bobby Robinson), Tired of Being Alone (Al Green) and Ain’t No Sunshine (Bill Withers).
And that is just to mention the creme of the crop, there are tracks like Sexual Healing, Whiter Shade of Pale, My Girl and What you Won’t Do For Love. You might wonder why one would want to buy Michael Bolton singing these numbers, the simple truth lies in the mission behind the act. All proceeds from this collection will go to `The Michael Bolton Charities’, involved in vast and varied issues, the two basic ones being betterment of children and women. Just for that thought, a worthy buy. Better still, of course, is the music.

Bored of the same old conventional `generation next’ and desi stuff, then Kandisa is the album you should get your hand’s on. Music is what Indian Ocean lives on and that’s exactly what their latest album is all about.
Kandisa which means `praise’ in Aramaic, the ancient and forgotten language from the time of Christ, is an album with seven songs dealing with the various aspects of life and nature. Side A starts off with Kya Maloom, a song depicting the sheer futility of war and conflict. The second one, Ma Rewa’s, talks about the river Narmada. There are three other song’s which emphasizes on human endurance. Inspired mainly by folk and western music, the lyrics of this album are very well flavored with some excellent music. Each number seems to have its own unique blend of composition. Two songs, Leaving Home and Kya Maloom, are sure to steal one’s soul. The more you listen to it, the more you’ll like it. This is one album you must try.

Bally Sagoo’s latest mix-n-match effort is definitely not a patch on his former releases. Bollywood Flashback 2, is the normal remix stuff you’d expect from all those guys who’re doing remixes these days. But coming from the guru of remixes, it’s dope. Even Bally’s impeccable selection of songs leaves something to be desired.
Side A features Noorie, Yeh Reshmi Zulfen, Mein Naiyo Bolna, Haye Haye Yeh MajbooriR and the Phir bhi Dil hai Hindustani RemixR. Side B has Sajana Kahie Bhool Gaye, Aaja Ayee Bahar, Lal Lal Gal, Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai and, as a bonus track, they’ve added Chura Liya.
The newer version of these phenomenal old numbers have the Bally da Chaap on them. They sound very much like the last bunch he remixed. No surprise in this Bally Sagoo remix release!!

KRODH is bound to fill you with sooo much of the emotion it’s named after, that you might just explode. Ever wonder about those impossible impulses that make you do the most bizarre things? Well, if you happen to find yourself in a theater watching this film and wonder what the hell you’re doing there, this will be a case of those bizarre impulses.
Krodh is all about this over-maniacal brother, Karan (Sunil Shetty) and his five sisters Asha, Suman, Priya, Anu and Seema. A happy family with the brother really hung up on the protecting the sisters. There’s Pooja (Rambha), the village belle whose brazen enuff to cross the path of the one man who’s feared by the whole village, and that’s cause she’s madly in love with him. Her brother Raj (Apoorva Agnihotri) is involved with one of Karan’s sisisters. But Karan will have none of this nonsense, since he wants his sisters to marry into good homes where the boys don’t line-lagao the girls.
There’s Prem (Johnny Lever) who’s also in love with one of the sisters. And if weren’t for him, this film would have left you tearing your hair in frustration.
Anyways, the bottom line is that Karan is this typically misunderstood elder brother. His sisters (and they’re not the villains in this case!!) and the bad guyz give him a lotta crap before he conquers the evil-doers and makes peace with his sisters and father (Kader Khan). He loves them and they love him. A lot of misunderstandings have happened before this (two and a half hours of misunderstanding)and yet no love is lost! And that’s the end of the film. Phew!!
If you still want to watch it, then you’re either a die-hard fan of Sunil Shetty or you’re just a plain old dumb-ass!!

Prepared for another offering by Anu Malik? Coz he’s the one who has `supplied’ his brand of `inspired’ music for the movie Hera Pheri.
Surprisingly, in spite of the `inspired’ music, the songs are quite good. Specially songs like Jab Bhi Koi Haseena and Tun Tunak Tun which make you wanna get up and go wild, dancing that is. On the other hand, Main Ladka Pom Pom will distinctly remind you of Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu. After all, `inspiration’ can be taken, from abroad as well as apna desh se. As for the rest of the tracks, they are a-okay!
To make matters worse, the lyrics, penned by Sameer, have no depth to speak of. So what you basically have, is your average, everyday hindi phillum moozik.
Enjoy.

Now this is what I call going overboard. Yeh Jo Mohabbat Hai, a two-cassette pack of instrumental music, paying tribute to RD Burman, is the latest one to hit the stands.
The songs chosen are some of RD Burman’s romantic ones, like aat Kali Ek, Yeh Shaam Mastani, Pyar Deewana Hota Hai, Chura Liya Hai, among others. But so much has already been done in his tribute, that this one loses its appeal. The instrumental version of the original songs, in this collection, is given by Jawahar Wattal, who, incidentally, has done a good enough job of it.
Check it out, if you are one of RD’s hardcore fans and just can’t get enough of his music. Or, if you are the type who `digs’ instrumental music.
