Lectures planned to creat awareness on foeticide

To create awareness against female foeticide, a series of lectures has been started by the Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, said Dr Pushpinder Singh Incharge of circle adding that deteriorating sex ratio was a matter of concern.

Satnam Singh Salhopuri, director, Youth Services, gave a special lecture recently at Khalsa College Gardiwala, Guru Harkrishan Girls College Phallewal, Layelpur Khalsa College Jalandhar, Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Khalsa College Bela, Baba Deep Singh Girls College Malloud, Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College Girls Maloud and Desh Bhagat Public School Sohia (near Ahmedgarh).

Speaking at these lectures, he highlighted the danger posed to the society’s social fabric because of fewer girls against boys. Thousands of girls present at these seminars while vowing to fight this social menace said they would raise their voice against female foeticide.
