Chennai, September 10: Amidst speculation that former captain and all rounder Kapil Dev might also be axed as the coach, Board of Control for Cricket in India BCCI president AC Muthiah announced on Sunday that Kapil might be invited to train the 23 probables of the Kenya bound Indian team at the preparatory camp beginning here from September 15.

In a statement here, he reiterated that there was no change in the BCCI8217;s stand that it would not not take any action on players or administrators unless their guilt was proved.

He reiterated that the BCCI had neither received any direction in writing or any other communication from the Union Sports Ministry nor had it the BCCI given any direction to the selectors on considering tainted players like former captain Md Azharuddin, Ajay Jadeja and Nikhil Chopra while picking the probables for the Kenya tour.

8220;The three players were rested purely on the basis of lack of merit8221;, Muthiah said.

He said the working committee meeting of the BCCI held on August 20 at Bangalore had authorised him to take an appropriate decision on Kapil Dev.

Afridi, Atiq, Hasan ignored
KARACHI: The three Pakistani cricketers, recently fined and suspended for the ICC Knock-out tournament in Nairobi, have also been ignored for the side games against touring England team in November and December.
