CHANDIGARH, July 22: Two unidentified men, posing as customers, reportedly pinched a box of silver ornaments from a jewellery shop in Mani Majra, here, on Tuesday.

Police sources said that two men went to the shop of Sikander Lal saying that they wanted to buy a large number of ornaments. The shopkeeper was showing them the jewellery when one of them asked for water. Lal later alleged that when he went to fetch water, the two managed to steal a boxful of jewellery. It was later added that the theft was discovered at the time of closing shop.

The police on the basis of Sikander Lal8217;s complaint have registered a case of cheating and theft.
