Jeans clamps down VCDs

CHENNAI, July 3: Even as the entire film industry cried hoarse about the VCD menace, one film alone has been able to fight back the TV pirates. It is director Shankar8217;s 8216;Jeans8217;, produced by the Amritraj group. The group has invested about Rs 20 lakh to keep vigil on VCD and cable TV operators alone. It has hired a private security agency and has appointed 150 representatives and an advocate each for every 20 theatres to book the cable TV operators who screened 8216;Jeans8217; illegally.
