Inter-school cultural meet

SURAT, Dec 28: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan8217;s Nandvidya Niketan School at Essar Township, Hazira, will organise an inter-school cultural, academic and sports meet on January 7-8 for students of classes VII to XII.

Cultural programmes including Rangoli, Collage, Can I Sell it Adaptunes, Dumb Charades, folk dance, will be held on January 8. Academic programmes like quiz, Hindi and English debate competitions will also be held on the same day.

Preliminary rounds of football, volleyball and table tennis matches will be played on January 7 followed by finals on the next day. The prize distribution function will also be held on January 8. In addition to first and second prizes, other participants will get certificates. A school spokesman said the idea behind holding the competition was to provide opportunities to students for their personality development as also to inculcate competition spirit. With the same view, the school has already introduced special projects like Junior Red Cross, Road Safety Patrol, Scout and Guide, Cubs and Bulbuls, Interact Club, Nature Club, Literary club and NCC Community service, among others. These projects were formally inaugurated at a function recently.
