NEW DELHI, MARCH 14: The sixth Inter-Bank cricket tournament (Norther region), under the aegis of Banks’ Sports Board, will be begin with Canara Bank and Reserve Bank of India clasing in the opening encounter at the Kotla here from tomorrow.

The tournament, organised by Oriental Bank of Commerce, will see 15 lead bank teams and financial institutions taking part in the eight-day tournament.

All the teams have been divided into two groups with A consisting seven teams while B eight squads. Apart from the Kotla, the matchs will also be played at three other venues Jamia Millia, Hindu College and Siri Fort grouns. The final is slated for March 22 and is to be played at the Kotla.

Besides the trophies to be awarded to winners and runners-up teams there will be attractive special prizes to the best batsman, best bowler and man of the tournament. Man of the match will be given in every game. The tournament will be inagurated by S.S. Mehra, General Manager of OBC.

Group A: Dena Bank, Syndicate Bank, State Bank of Bikaner&Jaipur, Bank of India, Punjab and Sind Bank, Indian Bank and State Bank of Patiala. Group B: Punjab National Bank, Unit Trust of India, Andhra Bank, Central Bank of India, Reserve Bank of India, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda and Oriental Bank of Commerce.
