Defence Minister George Fernandes today ruled out any intelligence failure in the Akshardham attack, stating that 8216;8216;it was a media hype.8217;8217;

Fernandes stated the internal security system needs a drastic change to foil terrorists8217; designs.

He said it was clear the attack was a well-rehearsed one. 8220;The terrorists may have entered the temple a number of times before the attack,8217;8217; he said.

8216;8216;In a population of 100 crore, one or two people striking at a spot cannot be intelligence failure,8217;8217; he added.

Since the militants have devised a new strategy, internal internal security arrangements in the country need to be revamped, he said.
