
First gurudwara in Pune at Ganesh Peth
This gurudwara is headed by Swami Balwant Singh. This is one of the oldest and biggest gurudwaras. This gurudwara also adheres to the teachings of their first Guru, Guru Nanakdev, that all human beings on this Earth are equal and whatever we produce should be equally distributed among all.
Dashmesh Darbar on Deccan College Road
This darbar was established in 1950. According to Mahendra Singh who looks after this Gurudwara, Guru Govind Singh, their 10th guru8217;s presence and strength prevails in the entire area of the gurudwara. According to him, in happiness or distress, man should continue with his faith and should never forget the holy Granth book. Guru Nanak jayanti, Baisakhi and Guru Govind Singh jayanti are the three important days observed in this Gurudwara. The trustees are planning to renovate and expand the structure of the gurudwara.
Gurudwara Shri Gurusingh Sabha, Khadki Bazaar
On every Sunday there is a holy gathering where discourses are held to enable devotees to spend the day immersed in the teachings of their Gurus. This Gurudwara is located near the Kirloskar Oil Engine factory and was established 15 years ago. The work of this Gurusingh Sabha is looked after by a five-member working committee. Satsang is held on every Sunday between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Every Thursday there is a Satsang only for ladies. This gurudwara undertakes some social activities like extending help to the needy and the poor toward their medical treatment.
Ramgodia Shivajinagar Gurudwara
The Bhavan stands for social and religious occasions and any one can take advantage of the hall on the Gurudwara premises. It is opposite the Jungli Maharaj Temple on J.M. Road. The satgurus pooja place is a part of the Ramgodia Bhavan. The hall Bhavan was opened on June 6, 1985.
Everyday at 5 a.m. this Gurudwara wakes up with pooja path, between 7 a.m and 8 a.m. Raheras Path Kirtana is arranged. On the first Sunday of every month Satsang is arranged. This is between 11 a.m. and 1.30 p.m. after which Langar is held, in which 250 to 300 people participate. Ramgodia Bhavan committee extends financial help to the needy and poor. This amount is collected through the daan small donations given by the public attending the Satsang.
Nagpur Chawl Gurudwara
This Gurudwara was established 30 years ago, at the hands of Sobharaj Khatani. Although small in size, devotees have now volunteered to develop the Gurudwara. Approximately 10 to 15 devotees reside permanently on the premises. They alternatively conduct the daily pooja. Every morning at 5.30 a.m. kirtan, is held and subah ka prasad is distributed. Every evening at 7.30 Sukhosana is performed. Every Tuesday between 9 a.m and 12 p.m all devotees come together. They have satsang, followed by prasad. Anniversaries of Guru Gobind SIngh and Guru Nanak jayanti are observed and celebrated for three days. Langar for all the devotees concludes the proceedings.
Guru Nanak Darbar, Pimpri
Thursday is an eventful day here, on which special a Bhandara programme is organised. The pooja and kirtan is a daily affair in the morning between 5.30 and 6.30 a.m. On Thursdays the Bhandara is observed in the evening between 7.30 and 9.00 p.m. and nearly 1000 to 1500 people gather on this day. With nearly 250 Sikh families staying in the area, they along with devotees from other communities take part in the Bhandara. Through the Gurudwara, some social work is undertaken. One of them being meals for students of the Blind School at Koregaon Park. n Jai Jawan Nagar Gurudwara In 25 years this Gurudwara has established itself in Jai Jawan Nagar Yerwada where nearly 100 Sikh families stay. Gyani Gurumal Singh is the chief of this Gurudwara. Every Tuesday Satsang is observed, when all the Sikh families staying in the vicinity gather for prayers. Guru Nanak jayanti, Baisakhi and Guru Teg Bahadur jayanti are observed with gusto and sanctity. On Sankranti Day, a religious procession is arranged very early in themorning.
Sapras Gurudwara
Known for its serene and pleasant atmosphere, this Gurudwara is located on the banks of the Mutha river at Sapras. The distinguishing characteristics of Sapras Gurudwara is that the army maintains the place. The daily pooja is conducted by a person appointed by the army authorities. He also follows the adnyas orders of his Guru and performs other religious acts.
