Nonita wins

NEW DELHI: Five-time national champion Nonita Lal Qureshi prevailed over Shruti Khanna one up on the fifth and the 36th hole to regain the 82nd women8217;s All-India Amateur Golf Championship at the Delhi Golf Club.

Anjali Chopra was third, while Vandana Agarwal fourth.

Delhi8217;s young golfer Amala Nath won the Vikramaditya Cup beating Lili Khanna.

Mukesh keeps lead

CALCUTTA: Mukesh Kumar made his first bogey of the tournament on the 13th hole on the third day, but played steady golf to maintain a seven-stoke lead on top of the leaderboard after 54 holes of the Rs 6 lakh Wills Eastern Open.

Moving up the leaderoard was Calcutta8217;s Indrajit Bhalotia, who shot the days best card of 66 to tally five-under 205 at the end of the third round.

Maharashtra win

NEW DELHI: Maharashtra, Mizoram and Punjab earned their second straight win in their respective pools to earn full points in the 12th Sub-junior under-16 National Football Championship.

Maharashtra scored a 9-0 winover Tripura in a Pool C match. They were helped by goals from Feroze Ali 3, SS Hassan Raza 2, Noah Fernandez 2, Ajabba and Bilal Yaqoob.
