Minor fire in Mohali factory
A minor fire was reported in Jai Parabolic, a factory in Phase VII, Industrial Area of the SAS Nagar, at about 10 a.m. today. According to fire officials, the fire out broke due to overheating in the oil furnace of the factory. A fire tender and a jeep was pressed into service to control the blaze. No one was injured in the incident.

Three held for gambling
Three persons were caught gambling in Bartana village by the Lohgarh police today. All the three have been arrested and a case under Section 13-G of the Gambling Act has been registered against them. The arrested include Kalu Ram, resident of Chuggia, Bilu and one more.

Truck driver held
A truck driver, Ranjeet Singh of village Kurkhar Majri in Gobindgarh, has been arrested by the police for overloading his truck. He was transporting iron rods in his truck when he was booked by the police under Section 283 of IPC and arrested. He was produced by the police in the court of Judicial Magistrate Rajpura.

Blood donation camp
Chandigarh Mayor Kewal Krishan Addiwal today visited Sarvhitkari School, Sohana, where a blood donation camp was organised today. He congratulated the school management which, he said, was doing a good job for the upliftment of the poor.
