IMFL worth lakhs seized

Further interrogation of the accused led the police to seizing another 938 bottles of whisky, worth Rs 2.07 lakhs, which were kept inside a shed a few kilometres from where the three were arrested. Another Maruti van GJ 15 C 2206 parked outside the shed and allegedly used in transporting liquor was also seized during the raid.

Two more persons, both employed Qadir, namely Iliyas Gafur Shaikh of Bharwad Falia in Mangrol and Ibrahim Mohammed, also from Mangrol, were taken into custody while they were in an inebriated state.

Providing details, striking force Superintendent Gajendrasinh Puwar stated that the seizures were a result of continuous patrolling by the prohibition police in the past four days.

The raids were carried out under the direction of prohibition DCP D G Vanjhara and superintendent Gajendrasinh Puwar, besides PIs, PSIs and constables of the department.

Legal action has been initiated against all the five, Puwar said on Tuesday evening.
