DIET: I start my day with two glasses of lukewarm water. Then I have tea with no milk and minimal sugar. I never skip breakfast. It is my favourite meal. I usually have some cereals or porridge with fruits, or go for eggs with toast and a glass of milkshake. I make sure that I fill myself suitably at breakfast, hence my lunches are always light. Most often, I grab some chapati and dal, with veggies. Dinner for me is early. Even if I’m having a late night, or am on a shoot, I finish dinner by 8.30 pm. Again it’s a light meal. In between meals, I stick to fruits, unlike my character Deep in Jhankaar Beats, who grabs burgers and wafers. Nowadays, because it’s the season for bhuttas, I have one sometimes. It’s a healthy, tasty option. So there’s nothing that I really avoid or binge on. I believe in eating everything, but in moderation. Only when it comes to bitter chocolates and strong coffee, I tend to go overboard. I’m also careful about eating out and prefer home-cooked food to anything else.

EXERCISE: I don’t have a fixed exercise regime. I take some time out (at least four times a week), either in the morning or evening, and jog or run for a while. I prefer outdoor exercise. I play some sport, mostly basketball. I used to play squash at the national level but do so very rarely now. I also don’t go to the gym. I do freehand exercises. If I do go to a gym, I try lightweight exercises. I’m keen on staying fit, more than body-building. As long as I’m in shape, I’m at peace with myself.

PROBLEM AREAS: When I’m off exercise for more than a month, I tend to add some kilos, especially on my face or stomach. That is my only problem. But once I resume my regular exercises, I can shed weight again.
