PUNE, MARCH 8: Hira Singh Ganapat Singh Purohit, a 20-year-old resident of Mangalwar Peth, Pune has been arrested by Vishrambaug police on charges of duping a Narayan Peth-based grocer.

Police said Hira Singh, who posed himself as a caterer, bought grocery on credit from Kishore Sarda8217;s Kishore Provisional Stores on February 18 and did not pay the dues. Hira Singh was arrested after Sarda lodged a first information report against him on Sunday.

Set afire: Malan Satpute, a 28-year-old labourer residing at the slums along Tadiwala Road, was seriously injured when her husband allegedly set her afire late on Sunday night.

Bund Garden police charged Malan8217;s husband Shravan with attempting to murder after she lodged a first information report on Monday. Shravan was not arrested till late in the evening. Police said Shravan suspected her fidelity. Burgled: CASH and jewellery, estimated over Rs 11,000 were stolen from the residence of Pradip Kulkarni in Budhwar Peth in a broad daylight on Sunday. An FIR lodged at Faraskhana police station said the burglars forced entry after breaking open its lock.
