Indians bow out in semis

LONDON: Indians Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi lost the semi-finals of Queen8217;s Club grass-court tennis tournament.

They lost 1-6, 6-7 12-14 to the Swedish-Australian pair of Jonas Bjorkman and Patrick Rafter.

In the other semi-final here yesterday, the top seeded Australian pair of Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde beat Patrick Galbraith US and Brett Steven NZ 1-6, 7-6 7-2, 7-5. The doubles final, however, was rained out with Woodbridge and Woodforde leading Bjorkman and Rafter 3-1. The match was abandoned and both teams will share the title.

Testud weds

LYON: France8217;s 14th seeded Sandrine Testud married Vittorio Magnelli at Saint-Genis-Laval near here yesterday.

But the 26-year-old French No 3, who was France8217;s last survivor at the French Open earlier this month when she reached the last-sixteen, has postponed the honeymoon. Testud is second seed at next week8217;s pre-Wimbledon tournament at Rosmalen in the Netherlands.
