GIS system to be launched

PUNE, July 22: In probably the first initiative of its kind, the office of the District Collector will soon launch the Geographical Information System8217; 8211; offering immediate contact with various parts of Pune district. This system is expected to help the district collectorate to maintain contact with various polling booths.

A special cell has been formed in the collectorate office and trials have already begun. The cell is also expected to provide first hand information during natural disasters like floods, earthquakes and cyclones.
