VELLORE, June 27: Timely action by the driver of the Mumbai-Kanyakumari Express prevented a major train mishap on Thursday night. The driver noticed a fire in a portion of the engine, and immediately stopped the trian near the Kethandapatti station between Vaniyambadi and Jolarpet. He informed the Kethandapatti station master, who in turn informed the fire service. Fire engines were rushed to the spot and the blaze was put out.
