According to a government investigative report issued on Thursday, six air traffic controllers provided accounts of their communications with 9/11 hijacked planes on a tape recording that was later destroyed by Federal Aviation Administration managers. FAA said it had taken action against the two employees and it was cooperating fully with the 9/11 panel. ‘‘We believe the tape appears to be consistent with written statements and other material provided to FBI and wouldn’t have added to the information already provided to them,’’ an FAA spokesperson said. —LAT-WP
