Locked out

After Sunil Agnihotri, Kiran A has taken over the direction of Yug. However, if he is being talked about, it not for his directorial abilities, but because of his flirtatious attitude. Recently, he was shooting late in the evening, and tried out some pranks with his associate, Komal Thakur.

The buzz is that he has developed a soft corner for her. But things backfired when Komal spilled tea on his jeans. Kiran changed into a kurta only to land into trouble at home his wife wanted an explanation for the change in clothes and even refused to let him into the house. So poor Kiran had to go back to the studio, so that he could sleep in the make-up room. Alas, the unit had packed up and the premise had been locked up. So Kiran was left with no option but to spend the rest of the night in his car!

While still on Yug, Channa Ruparel has signed up for the serial — for free. It seems her father was a freedom fighter and an avid watcher of Yug. One of his dreams was to see Channa in the serial. When he expired, that is just what Channa did — to pay tribute to her father. She is not even charging conveyance for the project. But the way the project is going maybe the serial needs more actors like Channa to keep it going!

Done in

Another person throwing tantrums is Jaaved Khan, who appears in the serial, Fasana, on EL TV. Apparently, he gave the producer a lot of date hassles and used to turn up late, only to leave within two hours. On top of that, he hiked his price by Rs 3000. The producer, finally, decided to kill him off — in the serial, that is. This angered Khan so much, he complained to the Cine Artists Association about this `unfair’ treatment.

Lady luck

While the rumour mill is still churning out stories about the affair between Kunika and Kumar Sanu, they, vehemently, insist that they are "just good friends". But the patent reply rang hollow recently when Kumar Sanu unveiled his studio, called KK Studio. Wags pointed out that the name surely referred to Kunika and Kumar. Kunika refutes the suggestion saying Sanu is superstitious about the alphabet `K’. So for good measure, he decided to repeat it!

Fuss, fuss

Don’t be surprised if you don’t see Kitu Gidwani in Shaktimaan anymore. Apparently, there has been a major conflict between her and Mukesh Khanna, the one man show of the serial. Gidwani was peeved that though she is supposed to be the main lead in the serial, she has been relegated to the background as a mere glamour prop. She even doubled her price and on one occasion, did not turn up for the shoot. So now, instead of her, you will see Vaishnavi as the new prop in the serial.

Big wave

Amitabh Bachchan’s movies may not be as inspiring as they used to be, but his album has certainly worked wonders for the man behind Shatrughan Sinha’s The Shotgun Show — Shashi Ranjan. Apparently, while watching the video of Eir Bir Phatte, Ranjan had a brainwave: the plot for a sitcom came to his mind and he called it — that’s right — Eir Bir Phatte! The story is about three friends in their late forties. The wife of the first one is dead, the wife of the second one has eloped and the third friend is yet to get married. The roles are being played by Sudhir Pandey, Dilip Joshi and Raju Kher. Ranjan has even shot the title song to resemble the Big B video.
