HYDERABAD, JANUARY 14: Medical services in all government teaching hospitals in Andhra Pradesh remained disrupted for the tenth day on Friday.

Though the Government had made alternative arrangements in hospitals, the services at out-patient wards and emergency services remained affected. Rural areas are the worst-hit due to the strike.

Yesterday8217;s talks between the government and the striking junior doctors remained deadlocked as the latter had rejected the government offer of a 25 per cent hike in stipend of Rs 3,500 and stuck to their demand that it be hiked to Rs 8,000.

Menawhile, the BJP and Congress Friday urged the State Government to take immediate steps to end the strike. BJP floor leader in the State Assembly, N Indrasena Reddy, told a press conference that the government should have constituted the Cabinet sub-committee when the doctors8217; association had served strike notice about three months ago.
