Diwali Mela concludes

CHANDIGARH, Oct 11: Prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions as the three-day 28th Lions Diwali Mela concluded here today.

According to the organisers, a record number of nearly 3,000 students participated in various competitions. While the organisers claimed that over a lakh people turned up to see the exhibition during the three-day period, there wasn8217;t much crowd at the venue today.The last day of the exhibition also witnessed some controversy at the parking place with some of the visitors alleging overcharging for parking fee.

Following are the results of the competitions in order of merit:
Fancy dress competition below 5 years: Vishali, Tamanpreet; 5-8 years: Kamal, Ashutosh, Naina; 8-12 years: Varun, Kamaljit, AshishHonest postman: Amarjit SinghBest teacher: Handa.World-Wide Immigration and Consultancy Services Limited won the best stall award while Krishna Agencies of Parle Food, Spice Drops and Brown Biscuits was second, and Two Good Drinks 8212; Doon Valley Foods was awarded the third prize.
